Just as the Aadhaar card is a very important document for every Indian, similarly PAN card is also an important identity document. In such a situation, it is common for there to be a mistake in the name mentioned on the card. But you do not need to worry because now you can get your PAN card corrected in 10 minutes sitting at home, let us know its a complete process-
Online Process of Name Correction:
Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department.
Click on the “Online Services” tab.
Under “PAN Services”, select “Request for PAN Card Reprint/Correction/Address Change”.
Click on “Apply Online” to start the process.
Enter your PAN number, date of birth, and gender as per your current PAN card.
Complete the verification step by checking the "I am not a robot" checkbox.
Click on “Submit” to proceed.
Your current name (as printed on your PAN card).
Your correct/real name which you wish to get printed on your PAN Card.
After entering the details, click on “Submit”.
Upon submission, you will receive an acknowledgment number. Keep this number safe as it may be needed for future reference. The approval process may take 15-20 days. Once approved, you will receive a new PAN card with the correct name.
