Opportunity to Join BHEL: 10th Pass Candidates Can Also Apply

BHEL has announced recruitment for apprenticeships. Under this drive, 380 positions are available, offering young people the chance to undergo one year of training. No written examination will be conducted for selection to these posts; instead, candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared according to their qualifications and marks. Candidates who have passed the 10th standard and completed an ITI course in the relevant trade are eligible to apply.

Recruitment for 380 Posts at BHEL

This BHEL recruitment drive covers a total of nine trades, including Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic (R&C), and COPA. The breakdown of posts is as follows: Fitter (125), Welder (115), Electrician (30), Turner (20), Machinist (20), Instrument Mechanic (12), Mechanic (R&C) (6), and COPA (45). In total, 380 positions are being filled.

Monthly Stipend Details

Candidates will receive a stipend based on their trade during the apprenticeship. A monthly stipend of ₹11,040 has been fixed for the Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, and Mechanic (R&C) trades. Meanwhile, candidates in the Welder and COPA trades will receive ₹10,560 per month.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, candidates must have completed a full-time ITI course certified by the NCVT or SCVT. A trade certificate from NCVT for the Welder trade will be valid. Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of August 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

Selection Without Written Exam

Candidates will not be required to take a written exam for this BHEL recruitment. Selection will be based on a merit list prepared according to the marks obtained in the relevant qualification. In the event of a tie between two candidates, preference will be given to the older candidate. Candidates who are currently undergoing apprenticeship training or have already completed an apprenticeship are ineligible to apply. Upon selection, candidates must complete a one-year apprenticeship training program.

Application Window Open Until September 12

Candidates must first register on the RDSE portal for this recruitment and retain the registration number generated upon completion. Subsequently, they must visit the BHEL Trichy portal and use this registration number to complete the application process. Candidates are required to upload all necessary documents during the application process; the deadline for applications is September 12, 2026.
