The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has released the official notification for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026. The application process has also started. This exam is considered very important for candidates who want to become teachers at the primary, middle, or senior secondary level.
The online application process for HTET 2026 started on December 24, 2025. Interested candidates can apply until January 4, 2026. The board has also provided the facility to correct any errors made during the application process. For this, a correction window will be opened on January 4 and 5, 2026. Candidates can use the websites bseh.org.in or htet.eapplynow.com for application.
Level-1 (PRT) exam is for primary teachers teaching classes 1 to 5. For this, the candidate must have passed 12th standard with at least 50 percent marks. A D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) or equivalent diploma is also mandatory. The Level-2 (TGT) exam is for teachers teaching classes 6 to 8. For this, a graduation degree in the relevant subject, along with a B.Ed degree, is required.
Level-3 (PGT) exam is conducted for teachers teaching classes 9 to 12. For this, the candidate must have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject and a B.Ed degree. The minimum age for candidates applying for HTET 2026 is 18 years, and the maximum age is 38 years. The age will be calculated as per the date mentioned in the official notification.
The HTET 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages to facilitate understanding for the candidates.
