If you dream of serving the country as an officer in the Indian Army, here is some good news. The Indian Army has issued a short notification for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-57 course, which provides eligible candidates a chance to become Army officers. The course is scheduled to commence in July 2027. Unmarried male candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 60% marks, are eligible to apply. Additionally, appearing for the JEE Main 2026 exam is mandatory. The online application process will begin on October 14, 2026, and interested candidates can submit their forms via the official Indian Army website until November 12, 2026.
Candidates applying for the TES-57 course must meet specific academic and other educational criteria. Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized board and secured an aggregate of at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Furthermore, appearing for JEE Main 2026 is compulsory. In line with the rules of previous TES courses, this entry is open only to unmarried male candidates. Candidates must also fulfill the Army’s prescribed medical and physical fitness standards.
What is the age requirement for TES-57?
Based on the rules of previous TES recruitments, the candidate’s age must be between 16½ and 19½ years as of July 1, 2027. Based on this, the probable date-of-birth range is indicated as January 2, 2008, to January 1, 2011. However, candidates must verify the specific date-of-birth criteria outlined in the detailed notification before applying.
Recruitment Posts and Salary
The short notification issued by the Indian Army does not specify the exact number of vacancies for the TES-57 course. While an estimate of 90 vacancies is being projected based on previous TES courses, this should not be considered the final figure; the exact number will be available in the detailed notification. Officers commissioned as Lieutenants after completing their training will receive a basic salary ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 under Pay Level 10. Additionally, Military Service Pay and other allowances are provided as per regulations. Terms regarding the stipend and other facilities during training will be governed by the detailed notification and Army regulations.
How will candidates be selected?
Candidates are not required to take a separate written examination for this recruitment. The process begins with shortlisting candidates based on eligibility criteria and JEE Main details.
