PM Kisan: Big and reassuring news is coming for millions of farmers across the country. The wait for the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme may soon be over. According to media reports, the much-awaited amount of Rs 2,000 could be transferred to farmers' bank accounts in the first week of November. This news could bring significant relief to farmers after the festive season.

While no official date has been announced by the government yet, this is only a tentative deadline that is being discussed. However, this news has sounded a warning bell for farmers who have not yet completed their registration or eKYC. The government's stance is clear: only those who meet all the criteria will benefit from the scheme. Therefore, if you want the next installment to reach your account without any interruption, it would be wise to complete all the necessary procedures in time.

The government intends to ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach every eligible farmer, but with complete transparency. This is why eKYC has been made mandatory. This process ensures that the funds are transferred to the correct beneficiary's actual bank account and that no irregularities occur. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is now completely technology-based. It has become one of the largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes in the world.

Simply put, the money comes directly from the central government to your bank account, without any middlemen or office visits. This is only possible if the information entered on your bank account, Aadhaar card, and PM Kisan portal is accurate and linked. If you haven't completed eKYC, the system will technically be unable to transfer the funds to your account. Similarly, new farmers who wish to join this scheme should register immediately, lest they miss the time for installment release when they apply.

Are you eligible for this scheme?
The government has set some clear eligibility criteria for this scheme. It is very important to know which farmers can benefit from it and which cannot.

Who is eligible?

The first condition is that the beneficiary must be an Indian citizen.

The second and most important condition is that the farmer must have cultivable land (agricultural land).
This scheme has been primarily designed to support small and marginal farmers in the country.

Who is not eligible?

The government has also defined certain categories of people who cannot benefit from this scheme.
For example, farmers who hold or have held constitutional posts are not eligible.
Farmers who pay income tax are also excluded from this scheme.
Similarly, retired employees (even if they do farming) receiving a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 or more are also not eligible.
Additionally, institutional landholders, such as trusts, cooperative societies, or companies, cannot apply for this scheme.

How New Farmers Apply
If you are a new farmer and meet all the eligibility criteria, you can easily register for this scheme. The government has provided both online and offline options. The online process is quite simple and quick.

Online Registration Process

First, you need to visit the official PM Kisan website, pmkisan.gov.in.
On the website's homepage, under the 'Farmer Corner' section, you will see the 'New Farmer Registration' option. Click on it.
Enter your Aadhaar number, state name, and the captcha code displayed on the screen correctly.
After this, an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter this OTP to complete the verification.
Once verified, a registration form will open. In this form, you will need to correctly fill in your personal information, such as name, address, bank account details (account number, IFSC code), mobile number, and land records (khasra-khatauni).

If necessary, upload scanned land documents (such as a copy of the khatauni) and submit the form.

Your application will be sent to the State Nodal Officer (SNO) for verification. Once everything is found correct, your name will be added to the beneficiary list.
