How did the fraud happen?

A woman from Patna had ordered a mixer machine on February 6. This product was to reach her by February 12. When it did not arrive on time, the woman thought of contacting the company to know the reason for this. After this she searched for the company's number on the Internet. When she contacted this number, the call went to the scammers. The scammers gathered the necessary information by entangling her in their talks and withdrew Rs 52,000 from the woman's account. After this, the woman has informed the police about the incident. At present, the police have registered a case and started an investigation.

To avoid such scams, extra caution is needed. To call any company, take the number from the official website of the company instead of the internet. The numbers on the internet may be of scammers. Apart from this, do not share your sensitive information with any unknown person on phone calls, emails, or messages. Company representatives do not ask for sensitive information like OTP. Along with this, if someone asks you to make a payment, then verify it first. Do not scan any link or QR code sent by an unknown person.
