Nowadays, the trend of online transactions and digital payments is increasing at a fast pace, and cyber crimes are also increasing at the same pace. People send money, pay bills and make purchases in one click, but many times they become victims of fraud in the name of this facility. In such a situation, a very important word comes to the fore, "Golden Hour".

Golden Hour means the initial time when an online fraud has happened and if the right steps are taken at the same time, then your money can be recovered or the loss can be prevented. "Golden Hour" is usually considered to be the first one to two hours, when you immediately inform the concerned bank, cyber cell or helpline about any cyber fraud.

This is the time when the money is in the transaction channel, that is, it has not completely reached the hands of the fraudster. Action taken at this time can stop that transaction or freeze the money.

According to cyber experts and police officials, as soon as you feel that you have been cheated like money has been deducted without sharing OTP, account details have been stolen by fake call or you have filled the details by clicking on a fake link, you should immediately lodge a complaint within 24 hours.

However, the first two hours are considered the most important. If a complaint is made within this time, then banks and agencies are able to track that transaction immediately.

Cyber Crime Helpline Number, 1930, this is a helpline number issued by the Government of India, by calling on which you can ask for immediate assistance. You can lodge a complaint by visiting the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal website www.cybercrime.gov.in. Also inform your bank immediately so that it can block the relevant transaction. If the solution is not found from the online platform, you can also file a written complaint.

If you delay in filing a complaint, the fraudster can immediately transfer your money to another account or withdraw it. In such a situation, it becomes difficult to trace your money and recovery becomes almost impossible. Every second is precious in cases of online fraud. You can save your money only by taking action within the golden hour i.e. the first 1-2 hours. So be alert, do not trust any unknown link or call and take appropriate action without delay in case of fraud.
