According to the Times of India report, after some time a man called to complete the process. This man sent a link to the victim to redeem reward points, after clicking on the link and filling in the required information, 65 thousand rupees were deducted from this person's account.
After the money was deducted, this person immediately called the woman and the man but it was too late because both their numbers were switched off, after not receiving the call, this person realized that a scam had happened in the name of reward points.
Where did the mistake happen?
The victim's mistake was that he believed the unknown woman's call, the second mistake was to click on an unknown link and the third mistake was to give his personal information through the link. If you want to save yourself from such scams, then be careful and think 100 times before making such a mistake.
How to avoid online scams?
Do not share details like bank, personal, OTP, or password with any unknown person. Do not click on unknown links received on message, email or messaging app. Keep in mind that bank staff do not ask for your personal information over phone calls.
