NTA Releases Exam Calendar Up to 2027; Schedules Announced

The NTA has released the exam calendar for several major examinations scheduled between December 2026 and March 2027. It outlines the tentative dates for key exams, including UGC NET, JEE Main, CMAT, and CUET PG.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam calendar for several major examinations scheduled from December 2026 to March 2027. It lists tentative dates for important exams such as UGC NET, Joint CSIR-UGC NET, JEE Main, CMAT, and CUET PG. The release of this calendar will assist students preparing for these exams in planning their studies and exam strategies. However, the NTA has clarified that these dates are currently tentative and subject to change.

UGC NET in December, JEE Main in January

According to the calendar released by the NTA, the UGC NET (December 2026 cycle) will be conducted between December 14 and December 19. December 20 and 21 have been designated as buffer dates. Meanwhile, the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam is proposed for December 20 and 21. Following this, JEE Main 2027 (Session 1) will be held in January; the exams are scheduled for January 22, 23, 24 and January 28, 29, 30. January 31 has been set aside as a buffer date. Buffer dates are utilized when an exam cannot be conducted on the scheduled date for some reason, requiring the testing agency to use an alternative date.

Dates Set for CMAT and CUET PG as Well

The calendar also provides tentative dates for other examinations. The Army Cadet College Examination is proposed for January 4, while the CMAT 2027 exam will take place on February 7. The NITTTR Part 1 exam is scheduled for February 26 and 27. The CUET PG 2027 examination will be conducted over a period of 17 days in March. The NIIIT Part 2 examination is proposed for March 5 and 7.

Which exams are included in the calendar?

In addition to UGC-NET, Joint CSIR-UGC-NET, JEE Main, CMAT, CUET PG, and NIIIT, the NTA's calendar for December 2026 to March 2027 includes several other examinations, such as the Army Cadet College exam, NIFT entrance exam, and Sainik School entrance exam. While releasing the calendar, the agency stated that the objective of providing advance information about the exam schedule is to enable the planning of academic activities.

Separate exam notifications to be issued

Along with the release of the calendar, the NTA clarified that the calendar should not be considered a formal notification for any specific examination. A separate information bulletin and exam-related notice will be issued for each examination. These will provide details regarding application dates, exam centers, admit cards, answer keys, and results.
