The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2026) is scheduled to be held nationwide tomorrow—Sunday, May 3rd. The NEET UG examination will be conducted in a single shift, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM. Candidates are required to reach their designated examination centers by 1:30 PM. Examinees must ensure they carry their admit cards with them. Candidates appearing for the NEET UG exam are required to adhere to a specific dress code to be permitted to sit for the test. Separate dress code guidelines have been prescribed for male and female candidates. Let us look at the specific guidelines that candidates appearing for this examination must follow.

Dress Code for Examinees

Male candidates appearing for the exam must wear casual trousers, pants, or jeans. Additionally, candidates are advised to wear slippers rather than shoes. Candidates are strictly prohibited from wearing any type of cap, muffler, or head covering. Meanwhile, female candidates appearing for the exam must wear leggings or trousers. Furthermore, they should opt for simple sandals and avoid wearing shoes. Female candidates are also advised to refrain from applying mehndi (henna) and are not permitted to carry handbags or purses inside the examination center.

Do Not Rely Solely on Google Maps

The NTA has advised candidates to carefully verify the examination center address provided on their admit cards. Reports indicate that the addresses for some centers are displayed incorrectly on Google Maps and similar platforms. Consequently, candidates should not rely solely on the map pin location. To avoid any issues, cross-check the complete address printed on your admit card and confirm the correct location in advance. Subsequently, plan your commute accordingly. Candidates are also advised to allocate sufficient buffer time to account for potential factors such as traffic, weather conditions, or other unforeseen delays.

If You Are Under Stress, Dial the Helpline Number

In a statement, the NTA said, “Your mental health and well-being are our utmost priority. No examination is more important than your life. If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, or excessive pressure, please contact the official helpline—14416 or 1-800-891-4416—immediately. You are not alone; help is available. Take care of yourself; we believe in you.” Meanwhile, regarding the NEET UG examination, the administration in all cities is also making comprehensive preparations.
