'NPS Central' Launched: Managing Your Pension Just Got Easier
The PFRDA launched the 'NPS Central' digital platform on October 1, 2026. This platform allows subscribers to manage their pension accounts, make investments, and access essential information—all in one place.
If you invest in the National Pension System (NPS), there is good news: you no longer need to visit multiple portals for various pension-related tasks. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has introduced a new digital platform called 'NPS Central.' It enables subscribers to view their pension account details and handle investment-related activities from a single, unified location.
Launched on October 1, 2026—coinciding with 'NPS Diwas' (NPS Day)—the platform aims to simplify pension services and provide subscribers with all necessary features in one place. Let’s explore the benefits that 'NPS Central' offers to subscribers.
What is 'NPS Central'?
'NPS Central' is a digital platform where National Pension System subscribers can access information regarding their accounts and investments. It has been developed jointly by the three Central Recordkeeping Agencies (CRAs): Protean, KFintech, and CAMS.
Features Available on 'NPS Central'
Easy Login: Existing subscribers can log in using their registered mobile number and date of birth. Identity verification is handled via OTP, eliminating the need to remember your PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number).
Unified Dashboard: Subscribers can view details of their NPS account and investment portfolio in one place.
Investment Options: The platform allows users to contribute to existing schemes and explore new investment opportunities.
Scheme Comparison: Subscribers can compare different schemes based on their returns, features, and associated charges.
Account Information: Users can update personal details, download statements, and track the status of their investments.
Grievance Redressal: Subscribers can also register complaints regarding any pension-related issues.
The process will also be simplified for new customers.
Those opening a new account under the National Pension System (NPS) will have access to a registration facility powered by AI. Central KYC (CKYC) and DigiLocker can be used for identity verification. An AI assistant will also be available to help answer customer queries. Upon successful registration, users will receive an electronic PRAN (e-PRAN) and access to essential account services. Notably, in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions, there is no registration fee.
