Driver sent complaint

According to media reports, Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar, who works as a driver in the State Road Transport Corporation, had sent a complaint to the police through WhatsApp. Dar, a resident of Hanjipora in Kupwara district, said that he was going from Tarathpora to Srinagar on Saturday. On the way, when he reached near Vilgam, two youths forcibly stopped him and beat him up. These youths have been identified as Aashiq Hussain Bhat and Gauhar Ahmed Bhat, residents of Shehnipora, Vilgam. The complainant said that he has suffered several injuries in the assault.

Police registered FIR

A police spokesperson said that on the basis of the complaint, an e-FIR has been registered against the accused at Vilgam police station under sections 115(2) and 126(2) of BNS.
