Now scammers will be left empty-handed! Have you learned about Google's new feature that protects against fraud?
When you learn how this Google feature works, you'll agree that it's going to be very useful in protecting people from financial fraud.
Google New Feature: Keeping the financial security of Android users in India in mind, tech giant Google has implemented a useful feature that will protect people during calls from scammers. When you learn how this Google feature works, you'll agree that it's going to be very useful in protecting people from financial fraud. It's called the In-Call Scam Protection feature. Learn how it works:
What is Google's In-Call Scam Protection feature?
Under this new feature, as soon as an Android user opens a banking or financial app while talking to an unknown phone number, a warning immediately appears on the screen. Suppose a caller calls you from a stranger, claiming to be an employee of a bank or financial institution, and asks you to make a money transaction. You can be alerted by a warning before opening a payment app. However, this feature will currently only work on Android 11 and above.
Google also added an additional safety layer.
A safety feature has also been added for the future, such as delaying the app's opening for 30 seconds if the user still wants to proceed with the warning. This will give the user time to consider whether they are about to fall into a financial trap.
Which apps in India will this warning work with?
This feature was initially launched in India as a pilot project. Google recently announced in a blog post that it has implemented in-call scam protection features in apps like Google Pay, Paytm, and Navi to protect users from the growing cyber and in-call fraud in the country. As soon as a user opens these apps while talking to an unknown number, the phone immediately displays a warning, allowing users to be alert and protect their money.
