WhatsApp Quick Recap: Meta is now preparing to bring many new AI features to WhatsApp, the most interesting of which is a new feature called 'Quick Recap'. Through this feature, users will be able to get a short and accurate summary of many unread chats at once. According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature is currently in development and has been seen in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.25.21.12.
How will it work?
The Quick Recap feature will be an advanced version of WhatsApp's already existing message summary system, which is currently available only in the US and gives a brief description of a single chat. But the new feature will go much further than this, in which users will be able to select five chats simultaneously and will be able to get the main points of each chat instantly with the help of AI.
This feature will be especially beneficial for those users who stay away from the app for a long time and have to scroll down again and again to read old chats. Now without wasting time, the summary of every chat will be on the screen in a jiffy.
How to get this feature
According to the information shared by WABetaInfo, to access it, users will have to go to the Chats tab and select several chats, then the option of 'Quick Recap' will appear in the menu with three dots on the top right. As soon as you tap on it, Meta's in-house AI will process those unread messages and present a clear and clear summary of them.
Will your privacy be safe?
Meta claims that this feature will be powered by its 'Private Processing' technology which keeps user privacy paramount. It uses end-to-end encryption, secure enclave and separate computing areas so that Meta or WhatsApp neither see the original messages nor can read the summary created by AI.
This will be an optional feature
The special thing is that this feature will be completely optional. That is, the user will have to turn it on manually by going into the settings, it will not be on by default. Apart from this, chats protected by WhatsApp's 'Advanced Chat Privacy' will not be included in it.
Will be available for everyone soon
At present, Quick Recap is available only as a test for WhatsApp's Android beta users. It is expected that in the next few weeks this feature will be rolled out for beta testers and later will be made available to all Android users. This new step of WhatsApp will prove to be very helpful for those who struggle with hundreds of messages daily and want to save time.
