NCERT has made a big change in the books of class 5. Now children will get information from modern to cultural knowledge in class 5 itself. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has prepared a new Hindi book 'Veena' for class 5, which is very special this time.
In fact, in this book, children will now be introduced to modern subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI), ISRO, Gaganyaan, while the stories of Panchatantra, Raja Vikramaditya and Raja Bhoj will give knowledge of moral education and traditions.
A glimpse of modern India
In this book, children will be encouraged towards science through lessons related to Gaganyaan Mission, Artificial Intelligence and ISRO. Children will be able to know how India is flying its flag in the world in the field of technology and space today.
Inspirational story too
The story of Paralympic winner Muralikant Rajaram Petkar has also been included to promote patriotism and sportsmanship. Petkar, who was injured in the 1965 war, won India's first gold medal in swimming at the 1972 Paralympics. His struggle and victory will inspire children to never give up.
Journey of the Ganga River and environmental message
In the lesson titled 'Ganga Ki Kahani', children are told how the Ganga River travels from Gangotri to the Bay of Bengal. It describes religious places like Gomukh, Devprayag, Haridwar, Kashi, and also gives the message that how this holy river becomes muddy due to pollution. This lesson also gives the message of protecting the environment.
India will be known for its diversity
For the first time in the book 'Veena', children will get a chance to know about the different states, festivals and traditions of India. Milk culture of Haryana, Loktak Lake of Manipur, Kaziranga National Park of Assam, Sadken festival of Arunachal and historical identity of Ujjain have been explained in the form of a story. This will give children a direct experience of the cultural diversity of the country.
Cultural knowledge
Ancient art and culture of India has also been given a place in this book. Through the paintings, sculpture and architecture of the caves of Ajanta and Ellora, children will be told how rich and ancient Indian art is.
