Passengers on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro 'Aqua Line' will no longer have to face long waits for their trains, as the frequency of services between Noida and Greater Noida is set to increase. In response to the surge in passenger numbers during the festive season—including Diwali, Navratri, and Chhath Puja—and to address the challenges faced by office-goers, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to increase the number of trips on the Aqua Line. This plan is expected to be implemented from November 1st, helping to alleviate overcrowding during the festive period and making late-night travel from Delhi to Greater Noida more convenient.

Reduced Crowding on the Aqua Line
Typically, trains on the Aqua Line operate at 15-minute intervals, often forcing passengers to spend long periods waiting on the platforms. The new schedule is designed to reduce congestion within the metro coaches during the morning and evening rush hours. Currently, from Monday to Friday, trains run every 7.5 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours; on Saturdays, the interval is 10 minutes, and on Sundays, it is 15 minutes. To accommodate the growing number of passengers, the frequency will now be improved, with trains running every 6 minutes instead of 7.5 minutes.

Increased Frequency on the Noida Metro
Currently, the Aqua Line operates from 6:00 AM until the last train at 10:00 PM; however, the service will now be extended, with the final train departing at 11:25 PM. To assist late-night commuters, additional trains will run at 10:10 PM, 10:40 PM, 11:00 PM, and finally at 11:25 PM. Notably, on the Delhi Metro's Blue Line, the last train heading toward Delhi from the Sector 52 station departs at 11:08 PM. The Blue Line's Sector 52 station is located in close proximity to the Aqua Line's Sector 51 station. Passengers on the Aqua Line can now travel to the Sector 52 Metro station via a skywalk. Extending metro operations until late at night will also benefit passengers traveling to and from Delhi.

Easier travel from Noida Electronic City to Delhi
Metro services from Dwarka (Delhi) to Noida Electronic City (Sector 63) operate until around 12:30 AM. The last train reaches Sector 52 at 12:25 AM. With an increase in the frequency and extended operating hours of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro, this route will remain functional until late at night, allowing commuters to reach destinations closer to their final stops. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) states that the decision to extend operating hours is aimed at enhancing passenger convenience. It is expected that, ahead of Diwali, both the frequency of trains and the operational hours will be extended into the late night.

The 30-km-long corridor, stretching from Noida Sector 51 to the Depot station in Greater Noida, features 21 elevated stations. This will directly benefit working professionals, students, and daily commuters. It will also facilitate seamless travel for passengers transferring between the Noida Sector 51 station and the Delhi Metro Blue Line at Sector 52. Furthermore, the corridor will benefit major residential and IT hubs, such as those in Noida Sectors 137 and 142, as well as students commuting to colleges and universities in Pari Chowk and Knowledge Park-II.
