IRCTC Down: On the night of March 26 and 27, railway online and counter services in the Delhi region will remain suspended for 5 hours. Due to maintenance work, passengers will be unable to book or cancel tickets, or check their PNR status. The Railways has advised passengers to complete their tasks in advance.

IRCTC Down: If you are planning to travel by train on March 26 or 27, this news is crucial for you. Several key railway services—both online and counter-based—in the Delhi region are set to be completely suspended for a few hours. Northern Railway has taken this decision to facilitate maintenance work.

When and for How Long Will Services Be Suspended?

According to the Railways, the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) in Delhi will be temporarily non-functional due to technical upgrades. This service will be suspended starting at 11:45 PM on the night of March 26, 2026, and will remain unavailable until 4:45 AM on the morning of March 27, 2026. This means that for approximately 5 hours, passengers will be unable to access ticket-related services.

Which Services Will Be Affected?

During this period, passengers will be unable to utilize the following key railway facilities:

  • Ticket booking and cancellation will not be possible—neither through the IRCTC app/website nor at railway counters.
  • Passengers will be unable to check the PNR status of their tickets.
  • Services such as the preparation of train charts and EDR (Electronic Data Record) will also be unavailable during this time.
  • This will also impact any Tatkal or last-minute bookings attempted during the night hours.

Why Did the Railways Take This Decision?

The Railways states that periodic maintenance is essential to enhance the system’s capacity and speed. These technical upgrades are being implemented specifically to ensure faster and more secure online services for passengers in the future. Important Advisory for Passengers

The Railways has appealed to passengers to complete essential tasks—such as booking or canceling tickets—before 11:45 PM on the night of March 26th to avoid any inconvenience. It would be prudent to plan your journey in advance to avoid any last-minute rush.
