PM Kisan Yojana Farmer ID: The government runs several schemes for farmers in the country, benefiting millions of farmers. Many farmers in the country do not earn much from farming. The Government of India provides such farmers with Rs 6000 annually under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. However, the government has set certain eligibility criteria for this scheme.
Availing of government schemes for farmers will no longer be as easy as before. The central government is creating a digital identity for farmers in the country under the AgriStack project, which has been named Farmer ID. If a farmer does not have a Farmer ID, instalments for schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi may be withheld. How can farmers who haven't created a Farmer ID get one? Learn how to create one.
What is a Farmer ID?
A Farmer ID is essentially a digital identity for farmers. It contains almost all information related to farming. This includes information such as the farmer's land records, the crops grown, the use of fertilizers and seeds, animal husbandry, and income from farming. Based on this ID, the government will determine which farmer is eligible for which scheme.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installments will also be linked to this Farmer ID. This will ensure that the right farmer receives the money at the right time. It will also eliminate problems like fake registrations, duplicate names, and false claims. In the future, this ID will be the basis for most agricultural schemes.
How to create a Farmer ID online?
To create a Farmer ID, the farmer has to visit their state's AgriStack Portal. There, they have to click on the "Create New User" option, enter their Aadhaar number, and complete the KYC process. After reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions, the form has to be submitted. Verification is then done using the OTP received on the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar number. Then, you need to re-enter your mobile number and confirm it with an OTP (One-Time Password). Now, create a new password and save it. This will create your user ID. After logging in, select "Owner" in the Farmer Type section and click on "Fetch Land Detail." Fill in the Khasra number (land parcel number) and complete land details. If you own more than one plot of land, it is necessary to provide details for all of them.
What to do after registration?
After filling in the land details and completing the verification, you need to enter your Family ID or Ration Card information in the Social Registry Tab. After that, it is necessary to select the Revenue Department under Department Approval. Finally, tick the Consent box and digitally sign the document. After completing all the steps, your Farmer ID application will be processed.
In many states, camps are also being organized at the Panchayat level where farmers can get offline assistance to complete this process. Farmers should get their Farmer ID made in a timely manner. Providing correct information and complete documents will ensure that you continue to receive funds from PM Kisan and other schemes without any interruption.
