You no longer need to stand in long queues to get an Aadhaar card made or to update details like your name, address, mobile number, or biometrics. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced an online appointment facility. You can now book a slot in advance, visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra directly, and avoid waiting in line for a token. This service is completely free and is available at UIDAI-run Aadhaar Seva Kendras across the country.

**Direct Entry via Online Appointment**
UIDAI has launched an online appointment system for Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Through this, anyone can select a date and time convenient for them to get an Aadhaar card made or updated. Once an appointment is booked, there is no need to wait in long token queues upon arrival at the center; instead, you receive service directly according to the established procedure. This facility can also be used to book appointments for family members. An individual can book a maximum of two appointments per month, and it is not mandatory to have a mobile number linked to Aadhaar to do so.

**What services are available at Aadhaar Seva Kendras?**
At Aadhaar Seva Kendras, you can get a new Aadhaar card made or update details such as name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile number, and email ID. Facilities for biometric updates—including photographs, fingerprints, and iris scans—are also available. Services such as Aadhaar downloading, color printing, and updating identity and address documents are provided here as well. These facilities are available to all Aadhaar holders in India as well as NRIs.

**Convenient Centers and Easy Process**
UIDAI has established modern Aadhaar Seva Kendras in many districts across the country. These centers are air-conditioned and offer special facilities for the elderly and differently-abled individuals. All centers remain open seven days a week from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Separate token systems are in place for those with online appointments and those visiting as walk-ins. Operations Managers and Center Managers are present at every center to ensure the immediate resolution of any issues.

Which services are free, and what are the applicable charges?
According to the UIDAI, enrolling for a new Aadhaar is completely free. Biometric updates are free for specific age groups, whereas a fee of ₹125 applies in other cases. Updating only details such as name, address, mobile number, or other demographic information incurs a fee of ₹75. The fee for updating documents at an Aadhaar center is ₹75, while document updates via the 'My Aadhaar' portal remain free until June 14, 2027. A fee of ₹40 is charged for downloading and obtaining a color printout of the Aadhaar card. All charges are inclusive of applicable taxes.
