The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has decided to reopen the Biomass Aggregation Machinery (BAM) portal. Through this, applications can now be submitted to set up biogas (or 'gobar gas') plants, providing people with access to affordable and clean energy. Operated by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the BAM portal will accept new applications from July 1 to July 30. This initiative enables Compressed Biogas (CBG) producers to receive financial assistance, ultimately ensuring the general public has access to clean and affordable energy at home.

**What are Biogas Plants and the BAM Portal?**
Producing biogas from household waste, cattle dung, and agricultural residue reduces reliance on LPG cylinders and provides families with free or affordable gas. It can be easily utilized at home through small, portable plants or mini-biogas units. Meanwhile, the BAM (Biomass Aggregation Machinery) portal is a government platform launched by the Ministry of Petroleum. It allows operators of Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants to apply for financial assistance—specifically subsidies—to purchase machinery.

**Who Can Register?**
This initiative is primarily aimed at individuals who wish to produce biogas or are already involved in this sector. According to official guidelines, entrepreneurs and producers intending to set up biogas or CBG plants are the primary applicants eligible to register on the BAM portal.
