WhatsApp New Feature: A new feature is coming soon to WhatsApp that will address privacy concerns. Messages sent using this feature will disappear immediately after being viewed once.

WhatsApp New Feature: The messaging platform WhatsApp frequently introduces new features. Now, a new feature is on the way that aims to alleviate user concerns regarding privacy. With this feature, messages will vanish immediately after the recipient views them. WhatsApp intends to give users greater control over their messages through this addition. Work on this feature is currently underway, and it is speculated that it will be rolled out within the next one or two months. Let’s look at the details of this feature.

What will change with the new feature?

Currently, WhatsApp offers a "View Once" format for sending media. Before sending a photo or video, users can tap the "View Once" icon in the message box to switch to this format. Once the recipient views the message, it disappears and cannot be accessed again. Now, preparations are being made to bring this feature to text messages as well. Consequently, users will be able to set both media and text messages to be viewable only once.

How will the new feature work?

According to reports, users will need to long-press the "Send" button to convert a text message into the "View Once" format. When the message reaches the recipient, they will be able to view it only once. After being viewed, the message will disappear permanently. Such messages cannot be copied, shared, or forwarded. This feature will work in both individual and group chats, though it will not be supported in WhatsApp Channels.

When will it be rolled out?

Work on this feature is currently in progress, and it has not yet been released even to the beta version. It will first be rolled out to the beta version; subsequently, based on feedback and necessary adjustments, it will be released to the general user base. Consequently, the rollout of the feature could take a few months.

WhatsApp to Introduce Scam Alert Feature

Alongside the 'View Once' format for text messages, the company is also working on a scam alert feature. This feature will detect fraudulent messages from unknown contacts and display a warning alert to the user. If the user deems the message safe, they can continue the chat without taking any action; however, if they find anything suspicious, they will have the option to block and report the sender right then and there.
