Supporting documents are necessary
Often, people have to change the details in the Aadhaar card. For any correction in the Aadhaar card, you have to upload some documents. Without these, you will not be able to make the required changes. The required documents depend on the type of information being corrected.
For example, if you want to update your address, you must have a valid proof of the new address. Similarly, if you want to change your name, you will have to submit a document confirming the correct name.
How to make corrections
Corrections in Aadhaar card can be done both online and offline. Online, you can only update your address. For changes in your name, date of birth, gender, address, mobile number, email ID or biometric data, you will have to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in person.
For offline corrections, you can book an online appointment at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. After that, you will have to fill the correction/update form, submit the required supporting documents and pay the applicable fee. After the process is completed, your Aadhaar card will be updated.
