The newly formed government has made its first major move for women’s welfare, delivering a direct financial push to one million women across the state. At a large public event held at Sankalp, 1 Aney Marg in the capital, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar formally transferred ₹10,000 each to 10 lakh beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme. With a single click, a total of ₹1,000 crore was deposited straight into the bank accounts of eligible women, marking one of the biggest immediate disbursements under the programme.
The event began shortly after 11:30 AM and saw the participation of thousands of women, government officials and local representatives. The Chief Minister was joined on stage by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and Rural Development & Transport Minister Shravan Kumar. Officials reiterated that empowering women through financial independence is at the core of the administration’s priorities.
Women Yet to Receive the Amount Will Be Included Soon
According to the government, women who have not yet received the benefit should not worry. Those whose names are missing from the current beneficiary list will be added soon, and they too will receive the ₹10,000 assistance amount after verification. Authorities emphasised that no eligible woman will be left out and that the entire process is being completed in phases to ensure accuracy.
