The Supreme Court has set the next date for a hearing on the NEET paper leak on Thursday (July 11). Along with this, the Supreme Court has said that the students who committed fraud should be identified. The National Examination Agency (NTA) has been questioned when the paper was leaked for the first time. NTA will have to answer this question in the hearing to be held on Thursday. Along with this, the court has told the government that a team of experts should be formed.

A total of 38 petitions for the NEET exam were heard in the Supreme Court on Monday (July 8). Out of these, five petitions have come to the Supreme Court after being transferred from the High Courts of different states. In many petitions, there has been a demand to cancel the exam.

What is the matter?

NEET UG exam was conducted on May 5, 2024. In this, about 23 lakh candidates appeared at 4,750 examination centers in 571 cities. After the result of this examination came out, it came under controversy due to allegations of many irregularities including question paper leaks. The investigation of the case is in the hands of CBI and the case is also going on in SC, on which the next hearing is to be held on Thursday. The matter of NEET paper leak is heated from the road to the Parliament. Agencies are engaged in investigating the matter. Protests took place in many cities regarding this. Many cases were also filed in the courts regarding the irregularities in the examination. Many arrests have also been made in many places including Bihar, and Gujarat in the investigation of the case.

The paper was certainly leaked - CJI.

During the hearing on Monday, the CJI said that it was certain that the paper had been leaked. Now it is just to find out whether it has happened on a large scale or a small scale. If the paper has been leaked online, then there is no option other than canceling the examination. At the same time, NTA refused to accept that the paper was leaked and the government said that cancellation of the exam would cause huge loss to the students.
