Now Amazon has made it easier for you to get a lab test done at home. The company has launched a new service called Amazon Diagnostics. This service of Amazon promises that it will collect your blood sample within 60 minutes of booking and you will get a digital report within 6 hours.

Where is this service currently available?

Amazon's new service is currently in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad and covers more than 450 pin codes. You can book more than 800 tests directly from the Amazon app, choose a time slot and track everything from sample pickup to the final report.

Partnership with this lab

To make this possible, Amazon has partnered with Bengaluru-based diagnostics company Orange Health Labs, which already offers rapid testing at home in several cities.

So how does it work?

It's very easy. You go to the Amazon app, choose the test you need and book at a time that suits you. A medical professional will come to your home and collect samples and for basic tests, your report will be sent to your phone within a few hours.

Amazon says it wants to reduce the delay and hassle of getting lab tests done. There will be no need to go to the clinic, stand in long queues or find a nearby lab. Jayaramakrishnan Balasubramanian, who leads Amazon's healthcare efforts in India, said the company's goal is to make healthcare easier and more reliable.

This new service is part of Amazon's plan to build a complete healthcare platform. Amazon already runs Amazon Pharmacy, where you can order medicines, and Amazon Clinic, which offers online doctor consultations.

Now, by adding lab tests, Amazon is offering the facility to talk to a doctor, get tests done and order medicines from a single app. The service is currently limited to 6 cities, but if it is successful, Amazon will soon launch it in more places.
