1. 8th Pay Commission

The year 2026 could bring good news for government employees. The 8th Pay Commission is going to be implemented across the country from January 1, 2026. Under the 8th Pay Commission, important decisions regarding the salaries and pensions of government employees may be taken.

2. CNG and PNG prices will decrease
This change in charges under the Unified Tariff System could directly impact the prices of CNG and PNG. According to media reports:

CNG prices may decrease by approximately Rs. 1.25 to Rs. 2.50 per kg.

In addition, PNG prices may see a reduction of Rs. 0.90 to Rs. 1.80 per SCM.

If PNG prices decrease, it will benefit those who use PNG for their vehicles and for cooking gas.

3. Bank interest rates will change
In the Monetary Policy Committee meeting held in December, the RBI reduced the repo rate by 0.25 percent. This reduction will directly affect loan interest rates. Lower interest rates will also provide relief in your monthly EMI payments.

After the repo rate cut, it depends on the banks whether they will reduce interest rates or not.

4. LPG Cylinder Prices Will Decrease
