Why is NPS becoming the top choice for retirement?
The National Pension System (NPS) has emerged as a strong pillar of long-term financial security in the country. NPS is one of the world's lowest-cost financial products and is fully regulated by the PFRDA. The NPS account (PRAN) remains unchanged even if one changes jobs or cities. Additionally, apart from the ₹1.5 lakh deduction under Section 80C, investors can avail an extra tax exemption of ₹50,000 under Section 80CCD (1B).
