Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the 18 'NAMO Oxygen Parks' in the capital on Friday; on this occasion, she emphasized the need to boost efforts to plant trees and increase greenery in urban areas.
During the inauguration of the NAMO Oxygen Parks on World Environment Day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that, together, they were launching a plantation drive for these 18 parks. Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa remarked that the launch of these 18 NAMO Oxygen Parks across the city would greatly benefit the people of Delhi. These parks will not only boost oxygen levels but also promote environmental conservation through the planting of native tree species. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta envisions developing approximately 100 such oxygen parks across Delhi.
What facilities will the NAMO Oxygen Parks offer?
These oxygen parks will feature walking tracks, attractive lighting, seating huts, beautiful ponds, and a variety of shade-providing trees. They will serve as key hubs for morning and evening walks, yoga, and community activities for children, women, and the elderly.
Greenery and Cleanliness: Hundreds of native plants and trees will be planted in the parks.
Fitness Facilities: Walking tracks and dedicated spaces for yoga will be available for the public.
Recreation: The parks will feature seating huts and a natural ambiance.
Water Conservation: Small ponds will be developed within the parks.
Where are the NAMO Oxygen Parks located?
The NAMO Oxygen Parks are being developed at 18 different locations across Delhi, with the inauguration taking place on June 5, 2026—World Environment Day. This initiative is part of the vision to create 100 oxygen parks in the capital; notably, one such park has been inaugurated in Maidan Garhi, and parks are also being developed in the Mukhmelpur area.
