NEET UG Result 2026: The NEET UG 2026 results are expected to be released by July 20. Following this, the counseling process for admission to medical colleges will commence.

NEET UG Result Date 2026: The journey of the NEET UG exam has been somewhat unusual this year. Initially, the exam was held on May 3, 2026, but the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled it due to reports of a paper leak. Subsequently, the exam was re-conducted on June 21, 2026, with over 20 lakh students participating.

Lakhs of students have been awaiting the results for a long time. Although the NTA has not yet announced a confirmed date, most reports suggest the results could be released by or before July 20, 2026. The NTA has stated in its notice that the final answer key will be released prior to the results, and marks will be determined based on it.

How to check the result

To view the result, first visit the website neet.nta.nic.in. Click on the 'NEET UG 2026 Result' link, which will appear in the 'Candidate Activity' or 'News & Events' section on the homepage. Next, enter the application number (from your admit card), date of birth, and captcha code, then submit the details. The scorecard will then appear on the screen, displaying information such as your name, roll number, marks, percentile, All India Rank, and qualification status. It is advisable to download and print the scorecard, as it will be required for the subsequent counseling and admission processes.

When will counseling begin?

Counseling is the next major step after the results are declared. The MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) conducts counseling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, which include seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, and central universities. According to various reports, counseling is expected to begin around July 21, 2026; however, this schedule is subject to change, as the entire process is running approximately two months behind due to the re-examination. The counseling will be conducted in four to five rounds, comprising Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round.

Following the declaration of results, registration for counseling will take place online at mcc.nic.in, where students will be required to submit their college and course preferences based on their rank and category.

What might the expected cut-off be?

Based on expert estimates, the category-wise cut-off for the re-conducted NEET exam is likely to be as follows: For General (UR) and EWS category students, the expected cut-off ranges from 135 to 700 marks. Meanwhile, for OBC, SC, and ST categories, it is estimated to be between 150 and 120 marks. For UR/EWS-PwD category students, the cut-off may range from 150 to 110 marks, whereas for OBC/SC/ST-PwD categories, it is estimated to be between 130 and 115 marks. However, these are merely estimates; the actual cut-off will be released by the NTA along with the results.
