The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for the NEET UG 2026 examination. Candidates who appeared for the medical entrance examination on May 3, 2026, can now visit the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, to download the answer key. This allows students to cross-check their responses and estimate their probable scores.

When Were the Exam and Applications Held?

The application process for NEET UG 2026 commenced on February 8, 2026. Candidates were given the opportunity to apply until March 11. Subsequently, a correction window was opened between March 12 and March 14. The examination was conducted on May 3, 2026, at various examination centers across the country.

OMR Sheets to be Released Soon

The NTA has informed that, following the release of the answer key, the scanned OMR sheets of the students will also be released shortly. To download their OMR sheets, candidates will be required to log in using their application number and password. This will enable students to accurately verify the answers they submitted.

Objections Can Be Raised Against the Answer Key

If a student identifies an error in any question or answer, they may register an online objection once the answer key challenge window opens. A prescribed fee must be paid to register an objection against each specific question. After reviewing all objections, the NTA will release the final answer key, and the results will be prepared based on that final key.

NEET 2026 Marking Scheme

In the NEET examination, 4 marks are awarded for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are awarded for unattempted questions. Students can easily calculate their probable scores with the help of the official answer key. When will the results be released?

According to media reports, the NEET UG 2026 results may be released this month. However, the NTA has not yet made an official announcement regarding the result date. Candidates are advised to check the official website periodically for updates.

How to Download the NEET UG 2026 Answer Key

First, candidates should visit the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
Click on the “NEET UG 2026 Answer Key” link located on the homepage.
A login page will now open; enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Your answer key will appear on the screen.
Now, download the PDF and take a printout for future reference.
