Need to file a PF claim? Hold on! The EPFO portal won't work today; find out when services will resume.
EPFO: EPFO's online services were scheduled to resume on July 1, but due to a technical upgrade, services are now expected to resume on July 2. This may cause difficulties in filing PF claims and downloading passbooks.
EPFO Portal: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is suspending all its online services until the night of July 1, 2026, due to a technical upgrade (Centralized IT System 2.0). This includes everything from filing PF claims to downloading passbooks and accessing UAN services. According to a notice on the EPFO portal, services will remain unavailable until 11:59 PM on July 1 and are expected to resume at 12:00 AM on July 2, 2026.
Why is the timeframe being extended?
The timeframe is being extended to improve the portal's speed and accelerate future claim settlements. Since June 26, EPFO has been working on consolidating the database of its claim processing system and upgrading the software.

Following this upgrade, the time required for claim settlement will decrease significantly, processing capacity and service delivery will improve, and the issue of frequent portal crashes will be resolved. However, while the work is in progress, neither members nor employers will be able to access online services via their respective interfaces.
What is the alternative?
If you need to file a PF claim for urgent work or check your passbook, please wait for the system to restart on July 2. However, in situations such as a wedding or a medical emergency, you can visit your nearest PF office and submit a physical form.
Deadline Extended Twice
When the EPFO began operations on June 26, it initially announced that online services would remain suspended until June 28 and would be restored on June 29. Later, the maintenance period was extended to June 30, with the announcement that services would resume on July 1. Now, a fresh notice indicates a further one-day delay in the resumption of services; they are now expected to be available on the portal starting July 2.
