Good news for farmers in Maharashtra! The state government has released the 7th installment of the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, transferring ₹2,000 each to the bank accounts of over 91.65 lakh farmers. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that a total of ₹1,892.61 crore has been credited under this installment.

Double Benefit Along with PM-Kisan Scheme

The Namo Shetkari Yojana is designed to provide financial relief to farmers, over and above the central government’s PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. While PM-Kisan offers ₹6,000 annually in three installments, Maharashtra farmers receive an additional ₹6,000 from the state government, bringing the total yearly benefit to ₹12,000.

Just last month, on August 2, 2025, the central government credited the 20th installment of PM-Kisan, transferring ₹2,000 each to the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the country, including 92.89 lakh beneficiaries in Maharashtra. Following that, the state government has now added its 7th installment under the Namo Shetkari Yojana.

However, it is worth noting that only 91.65 lakh farmers successfully received this installment, as some accounts faced technical or documentation-related issues.

How to Check If the Amount Is Credited

Farmers can easily verify whether the ₹2,000 installment has been deposited into their bank account. Here’s the step-by-step process:

  1. Visit the official portal of Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana (NSMNY).

  2. Click on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option.

  3. Enter your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, or registration ID.

  4. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

  5. After entering the OTP, your latest payment status will be displayed on the screen.

This online facility ensures transparency and helps farmers quickly confirm whether they have received the financial support.

Reasons Why Some Farmers Didn’t Receive Payment

If the installment has not been credited, there could be several reasons:

  • E-KYC not completed – The most common cause of rejection.

  • Incorrect bank account details provided at the time of registration.

  • Bank account not linked with Aadhaar number.

  • Incomplete farmer registration under the scheme.

Farmers facing these issues are advised to update their KYC, verify their account details, and complete registration at the earliest to ensure they don’t miss out on future payments.

Who Is Eligible for the Scheme?

The Namo Shetkari Yojana is directly linked to the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. This means:

  • Farmers already enrolled in PM-Kisan automatically qualify for the state scheme.

  • Eligibility rules and conditions are the same as those of PM-Kisan.

  • Beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually from the state government, in addition to the central scheme’s support.

Thus, Maharashtra farmers who are listed under PM-Kisan receive a combined benefit of ₹12,000 every year, helping them manage agricultural expenses and improve livelihood security.

A Step Towards Farmer Welfare

The disbursal of the 7th installment highlights the Maharashtra government’s commitment to farmer welfare. By ensuring timely financial assistance, the scheme aims to reduce dependence on loans, improve agricultural investment, and provide stability to farming households.

With over 91 lakh farmers receiving payments this round, the scheme continues to make a significant impact on rural Maharashtra. However, authorities also stress the importance of completing KYC and account verification so that no eligible farmer is left out in future installments.
