Delhi SIR Draft List: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the draft electoral roll ahead of the upcoming elections in Delhi. Prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, this list has raised concerns among lakhs of voters in the capital.

In fact, the names of approximately 47.7 lakh voters—out of Delhi's total 1.45 crore registered voters—are missing from this draft list. This means one in every three voters has been dropped from the preliminary list. Why were 47.7 lakh names removed?
During the door-to-door verification drive conducted between June 30 and August 17, the forms of approximately 97.5 lakh voters (67.18%) were processed digitally. The remaining 47.7 lakh names have been placed in the ASDDO category—comprising Absent, Shifted, Dead, or Duplicate entries.

Assembly-wise Statistics
Leaders in Digitization: The Rohini Assembly constituency topped the list with 83.43% digitization, followed by Shakur Basti (81.26%), Rajouri Garden (79.14%), and Mangolpuri (78.76%).

Lowest Digitization Rate: Tughlakabad recorded the lowest digitization rate at 52.15%. Meanwhile, the Okhla area saw the highest proportion of forms—45.32%—fall into the 'uncollectible' category. Other affected areas also recorded high numbers of uncollected forms: Chandni Chowk (38.98%), Ballimaran (32.65%), Mustafabad (28.09%), Babarpur (27%), and Seelampur (23.37%). In localities like Shaheen Bagh and Jasola Vihar, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) faced difficulties in linking migrant families from Bihar, UP, Assam, and West Bengal to the 2002 electoral roll.

**1,914 New Polling Stations Established in Delhi**
Following this intensive revision process, Delhi's electoral infrastructure has expanded. The number of polling stations has increased from 13,033 to 14,947, meaning 1,914 new polling stations have been set up. Additionally, the number of polling locations has risen from 2,696 to 2,856.

Visit *electoralsearch.eci.gov.in* and select 'NCT of Delhi' as the language/region. Enter your voter card number (EPIC Number) and the captcha code, then click 'Search'. Log in using the OTP received on your registered mobile number. Search by entering details such as your name, father's or husband's name, age, district, and assembly constituency. If your details appear, your name is secure; if 'No Record Found' appears, it implies your name has been removed.

**Voter Helpline App**
Download the 'Voter Helpline App' from the Google Play Store or App Store. Click on 'Search Your Name' and check your status using your EPIC number or by scanning the barcode.

**SMS or 1950 Helpline**
Type 'ECI [Space] [Your EPIC Number]' on your phone and send it to 1950. Alternatively, call the toll-free number 1950 directly to check the status of your name.

What should you do if your name is not on the list?
If your name has been removed from the draft list, there is no need to panic. Delhi's final voter list will be published on November 4, 2026. Before that, you can apply to have your name added by filling out Form 6 online via the ECI portal or the Voter Helpline App. Alternatively, you can meet the Booth Level Officer (BLO) for your area, submit the necessary documents, and fill out Form 6. Please note that election officials will resolve all claims and objections regarding the names that were removed by October 29, 2026.
