My purse got stolen...Aadhar-PAN and all other documents are also missing. What should I do now?

If money is missing, then it is not that problematic, but when important documents also disappear, then the problem increases because then you have to get those documents made again. What to do first if the documents are stolen?

If your purse is stolen and your important documents like Aadhaar, PAN or driving license are stolen, then first of all go to the nearest police station and file a complaint. This complaint is useful later in getting new documents made and keeping your records safe. Apart from this, if your ATM or credit card is also lost along with the documents, then immediately call the bank and get it blocked. After registering the FIR, keep a copy of it with you. Because this will be the proof that your documents have been stolen. So that if someone misuses your documents, then it will not be your responsibility.

How to get the documents made again?

After the documents are stolen, the method of getting them made again is slightly different for each document. For Aadhaar card, you can visit UIDAI website or nearest Aadhaar centre. If mobile number is linked, you can request from home. For PAN card, you can apply again by visiting NSDL or UTIITSL website using Lost PAN or Reprint PAN option.

Whereas, to get driving license, you will have to visit parivahan.gov.in site. You will have to attach copy of FIR and apply for duplicate DL. In case of ATM card, go to your bank branch or you can get a new card from customer care.
