Before investing in mutual funds, it's crucial to ensure your KYC information is up-to-date and valid. Before updating your KYC, it's essential to check your KYC status. You can check your KYC status by simply entering your PAN number on the website of any AMC (Asset Management Company) or RTA (Registrar and Transfer Agent). Your status will appear as Valid, Registered, Held, or Rejected.

How to Check KYC Status
Go to the website of the mutual fund or RTA where you have investments. Click on the "Check KYC Status" link and enter your 10-digit PAN number. Fill in the captcha. Your KYC status will appear on the screen as Validated, Registered, Held, or Rejected.

1. KYC Valid
If your KYC is valid, you don't need to do anything. You can invest or transact in any mutual fund at any time.

2. KYC Registered
If your KYC is registered, you can transact in your existing mutual fund investments. However, if you wish to invest in a new fund, you will need to update your KYC again. You can complete the KYC update or modification process using your PAN and Aadhaar (XML, DigiLocker, or m-Aadhaar) to verify your status as validated.

3. KYC Hold or Rejected
If your KYC is displayed as held or rejected, the following could be the reasons: your mobile number or email ID is not verified, your PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, or there are deficiencies in your KYC documents. Simply follow the steps on the mutual fund website. Once the status changes to registered or validated, you can start investing.

You can update here.
Also, you can visit the AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds of India) website to access the eKYC modification pages of 43 AMCs, such as HDFC, ICICI Prudential, Kotak Mahindra, and Mirae Asset Mutual Fund. From there, you can easily update or correct your KYC information.
