This recruitment process covers posts in departments such as Police, Panchayat, Agriculture, and Engineering. Additionally, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is proposed for September-October. This update is significant for candidates preparing for government jobs and the Teacher Eligibility Test.
Two major recruitment exams in September
According to the MP ESB’s revised recruitment calendar, the Agriculture Extension Officer Recruitment Exam-2026 (under Group-2, Sub-Group-1) will be held in September 2026. A total of 2,784 posts are to be filled through this exam. A combined recruitment exam for posts such as Block Panchayat Officer, Panchayat Coordinator Officer, Assistant Auditor, and equivalent positions (under Group-2, Sub-Group-4) will also be conducted that same month. A total of 2,299 posts are to be filled under this recruitment drive.
SI and Sub-Engineer exams in September-October
The Group-3 exam for Sub-Engineer, Draftsman, and Laboratory Technician posts is scheduled to be held between September and October 2026. Candidates will be selected for a total of 700 posts through this recruitment. The recruitment exam for the Subedar and Sub-Inspector (SI) cadre is also proposed during this same period. A total of 507 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Additionally, the Primary and Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 is proposed to be held in September-October.
Focus on Police Recruitment in October-November
Several important examinations are scheduled between October and November 2026. During this period, the recruitment exam for Subedar (Stenographer) and Assistant Sub-Inspector is proposed, filling a total of 566 posts. Furthermore, the Police Constable recruitment exam will take place during this same timeframe; this drive involves the highest number of vacancies, with 7,500 candidates to be selected.
1,000 Police Constable (Driver) Posts in November
The recruitment exam for Police Constable (Driver) is proposed for November 2026, aiming to fill a total of 1,000 posts.
Panchayat-Related Recruitments in November-December
The departmental recruitment exam for Naib Tehsildar is scheduled between November and December 2026, with 73 posts to be filled. Recruitment exams for Panchayat Secretary and Gram Rozgar Sahayak are also proposed during this period, involving the selection of candidates for a total of 2,900 posts.
Group-6 Recruitment Exam in December
The Group-6 (Sub-group 1) recruitment exam is scheduled for December 2026, covering a total of 700 posts. Additionally, an exam will be held in December to fill vacancies in government music and fine arts colleges operating under the Directorate of Culture; a total of 33 posts are to be filled through this process.
TET Update Affecting Approximately 1.50 Lakh Teachers
According to the MP ESB’s revised recruitment calendar, a total of 19,062 posts will be filled in Madhya Pradesh, with the highest number (7,500) being for Police Constables. Other roles include Panchayat Secretary, Gram Rozgar Sahayak, Agriculture Extension Officer, Sub-Engineer, and Sub-Inspector (SI). Meanwhile, the TET exam for approximately 1.50 lakh teachers is scheduled for September-October 2026. Following a Supreme Court order, the responsibility for this has been assigned to the MP ESB, and it has been announced that the online application process will commence soon.
Which teachers are required to take the TET?
According to the Supreme Court, the TET is mandatory for all teachers instructing students in classes 1 through 8. Certain teachers appointed prior to the implementation of the RTE Act had not taken this examination; they must now appear for the TET to prove their eligibility. This requirement applies to teachers working in both primary and secondary schools who have more than five years of service remaining before retirement.
