However, despite the passage of several months, the refund amounts have not yet been received. This has led to confusion among customers regarding whether they should file a claim again. There are specific rules governing this, and the necessity of a new claim depends on the current status of the refund.
The Ministry of Cooperation has reactivated the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal following the resolution of technical and administrative issues, thereby resuming the scrutiny and processing of approximately 20 lakh pending claims.
Investors have been applying for refunds of money stuck in Sahara cooperative societies since 2023. Yet, not everyone has received their refund. This has raised questions about whether a fresh application is required. Let us explain the situation.
What should those with existing claims do?
If you have already filed a claim for a Sahara cooperative society refund on the CRCS portal and no errors were indicated, there is no need to file a new claim. You should check the status and remarks regarding your existing claim on the portal. If the status appears as "Under Process" or "Processing," do not submit a new application. If the status is "Verified" or "Eligible," you should wait for the payment process to be completed.
If the portal displays the status "Deficiency Communicated" for your application, you must rectify the deficiency mentioned in the original application. If you receive a "Resubmission Required" message, you should correct the existing claim and resubmit it via the Resubmission Portal.
Who needs to file a new claim?
If you have not previously filed a claim on the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal, you can file a new claim there. Please ensure that you submit your new claim via the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal. However, if you have already filed a claim, you must use the Resubmission Portal for that existing claim.
How to check status on the CRCS portal
First, visit the official CRCS-Sahara Refund portal. Next, log in using your registered mobile number or Aadhaar number. Then, check the claim or refund status and any remarks. You will need to complete the subsequent steps based on the status displayed.
The Sahara refund funds are intended solely for investors in four major Sahara Group cooperative societies: Sahara Credit Cooperative Society, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society, Humara India Credit Cooperative Society, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
