The National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), the apex body of real estate companies, gave this information in a statement. In this conference organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, NAREDCO President G. Hari Babu said that today India and UAE are the best friends in the world. Representatives from 21 states of India participated in this conference and we are going back with important lessons in sustainable urban development. The journey of India's housing sector started from basic houses and has now reached affordable, sustainable and luxury housing.
5 trillion economy will be created
NAREDCO Chairman Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani said that currently the real estate sector contributes seven percent to India's gross domestic product (GDP). According to NITI Aayog, with India becoming a $ 5,000 billion economy, the contribution of this sector can reach 15 percent. This growth has a positive impact on employment, investment and 270 supporting industries.
He said that strengthening partnership with UAE will promote innovation and accelerate sustainable development. This conference was organized during the four-day study tour of NAREDCO. More than 350 participants, 35 representatives of the Government of India, industry and UAE representatives participated in the conference.
