Major change in tax slab
The GST Council has also taken an important step towards making the tax system simple and transparent. The 12% and 28% tax slabs have been abolished. Now, most of the goods will remain in only a 5% or 18% slab. With this change, some things may become cheaper for the middle class.

In this meeting, relief was also given to small and medium-sized businessmen along with common people. There was a discussion on simplifying the rules of GST and simplifying the process of tax filing. This will make registration and filing returns much easier for businessmen.
