Metro Time Change: Special arrangements have been made for Delhi Metro travelers on February 22nd. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to run trains earlier than scheduled on some lines. On this day, Sunday, metro services will begin at 3:30 am on selected routes. Trains will run every 30 minutes until 6 am. After that, metro services will operate as usual.

Early trains will be available on these routes.
This special facility will be offered on the Yellow Line, Blue Line, and Violet Line.
On the Yellow Line, trains will run from Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Center, Gurugram.
On the Blue Line, the metro will be available from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali.

On the Violet Line, passengers will be able to travel from Kashmiri Gate to Raja Nahar Singh.

On all other lines, the normal Sunday timetable will apply.

Why was the timing changed?
The reason for this change is the 'New Delhi Marathon 2026,' in which many renowned runners from across the country will participate. This event is held annually and is also known as the National Championship. To accommodate the large number of participants and spectators, the metro is starting early so that people can reach the venue on time.

Times have changed before
It should be noted that the DMRC has made similar arrangements during major events. Previously, on January 26th, for the Republic Day parade, the metro was operated on some lines from 3 a.m., with trains running every 15 minutes until 6 a.m.

Meanwhile, work on the expansion of the Delhi Metro is also progressing rapidly. The Magenta Line is being planned as the most modern corridor. After the expansion, this line will have 65 stations and 21 interchange stations. It will run from Botanical Garden to Indralok and will operate as a completely driverless metro corridor. Currently, this line has interchange stations at Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden, Janakpuri West, and Hauz Khas.

Overall, the Delhi Metro not only provides a comfortable ride to millions of passengers daily, but also ensures passenger convenience during major events.
