MCC's big decision amid NEET UG counseling, notice issued; read details

NEET UG 2024: The NEET UG counseling process is still going on. Meanwhile, MCC i.e. Medical Council Committee has taken a big decision. The Medical Council Committee (MCC) has allowed the candidates who have been allotted seats in the first two rounds of NEET UG counseling 2024 to resign. Those who want to resign from their seat can do so before October 1.
The committee claimed that this decision, which was published on the official MCC website, was taken by the counseling committee after receiving requests from many undergraduate students. A notification has been issued in this regard. The official notification states, “Candidates who wish to vacate their Round-1 or Round-2 seat may do so till 5 PM of 01.10.2024.”
Rules before resigning from counseling seats
Round-1 candidates who did not get upgraded in Round 2 may resign from their seat within the prescribed period of resignation without forfeiting the security deposit.
Newly allotted candidates of Round 2 who joined their seat but now wish to resign may vacate their seat by forfeiting the security deposit within the prescribed period of resignation.
Candidates who got upgraded in Round 2, and joined on the upgraded seat but now wish to resign from their seat may vacate their seat by forfeiting the security deposit within the prescribed period of resignation.
Candidates have to physically report to the allotted college to resign from their seat.
Candidates are advised to ensure that their resignation is generated online (through the portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be considered 'invalid'.
The MCC NEET UG Round 2 seat allotment result for 2024 was declared on September 19. The last date to report to the allotted colleges is September 27. The schedule was updated due to the addition of new seats approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
