The crisis surrounding domestic gas cylinders is no secret to anyone. The government is not only briefing the general public daily regarding availability but is also appealing to them not to create panic. Furthermore, a special appeal has been made to those households possessing a PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connection to surrender their gas cylinders. The prices for both domestic and commercial gas cylinders are announced on the first day of every month.

While Wednesday brought some relief regarding the prices of domestic gas cylinders, the commercial sector witnessed a price hike for the fifth time this year. According to the data, the price of commercial gas cylinders has risen by approximately ₹500 over the course of the current year. Consequently, the price of commercial gas cylinders in the country has now crossed the ₹2,200 mark. Let us take a look at the latest updates and news emerging regarding cooking gas.

**What Relief Has Been Provided in Domestic Gas Cylinder Prices?**
Just as the prices for domestic gas cylinders were announced on March 6th—the previous month—expectations were high that a price hike would be observed this time as well; however, this did not happen. This marks a significant relief provided to the general public by the government and the oil companies.
