There is good news for teachers in Uttar Pradesh's basic and secondary schools. The government is set to launch a cashless medical card scheme, enabling teachers and their dependents to avail medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh.

Lakhs of teachers in Uttar Pradesh are poised to receive significant relief regarding healthcare facilities. Preparations for the cashless medical cards—to be issued under the 'Chief Minister's Cashless Medical Scheme for Teachers'—are nearing completion. The card design has been finalized, and the online application form has been released. The implementation process will commence following departmental approval.

Apply from the Comfort of Home

Once the scheme launches, teachers will be able to apply online. During the application process, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar card to verify their identity. Subsequently, the application can be submitted after uploading the necessary documents.

Receive Regular Updates on Mobile

Once submitted, the application will undergo a verification process. It will first be routed to the Block Education Officer (BEO) and, upon approval, forwarded to the Basic Education Officer (BSA). Teachers will receive mobile notifications regarding the status of their application at each stage.

Family Members Can Also Avail Benefits

Teachers wishing to include eligible family dependents in the scheme can select this option during the application process, thereby extending the medical treatment benefits to their family members as well.

When Can the Card Be Downloaded?

The cashless medical card will be issued after the completion of e-KYC, document verification, and all other necessary formalities. Teachers will be able to download the card online and use it whenever required.

Cashless Treatment Worth Up to ₹5 Lakh

Under this scheme, teachers from the Basic and Secondary Education Departments and their eligible dependents will be able to avail cashless medical treatment facilities worth up to ₹5 lakh. This will significantly alleviate concerns about out-of-pocket expenses for hospital treatment.
