Major Announcement from This State: Now, Receive Financial Aid Upon Clearing UPSC Prelims and Mains
CM INSPIRE Scheme: Preparing for the UPSC exams is set to become easier. The Government of Meghalaya has announced the ‘CM INSPIRE’ scheme to provide direct financial assistance to aspirants. Let’s explore the details…
CM INSPIRE Scheme Meghalaya: The UPSC examination is widely regarded as one of the toughest competitive exams in the country. Every year, lakhs of young aspirants begin their preparation with the dream of clearing this exam; however, the high costs associated with coaching, study materials, accommodation, and commuting often act as barriers, halting their progress. This path becomes particularly arduous for students hailing from smaller states.
Recognizing this challenge, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has announced a new initiative titled ‘CM INSPIRE’. Let us delve into the full details of the scheme, including where candidates can apply.
Chief Minister Sangma noted that over the past several years, the representation of Meghalaya and its tribal communities within the civil services has witnessed a decline—a matter of significant concern. In response, the government has taken decisive action by deciding to provide direct financial assistance to the youth, ensuring that a lack of funds does not stand as a barrier between them and their dreams. He urged students, stating that the time has come to reverse this trend, and assured them that the government stands firmly by their side throughout this journey.
Assistance at Every Major Stage of the Examination
A standout feature of this scheme is that the financial assistance is directly linked to the critical stages of the UPSC examination. Students who successfully clear the Preliminary Examination (Prelims) will receive financial aid amounting to ₹50,000. Those who advance to the Main Examination (Mains) will be granted financial assistance of ₹1,00,000. In essence, as students progress further through the various stages of the examination, the government will continue to provide support and encouragement.
Easing the Burden of Expenses
Preparing for the UPSC exams entails significant financial outlay, encompassing coaching fees, study materials, test series, accommodation costs, and travel expenses. Consequently, many talented students are left behind solely due to these financial constraints. The objective of this scheme is to provide relief to such students, enabling them to pursue their preparation without the burden of financial pressure. According to government officials, this scheme has been designed specifically to reach out to those students who are genuinely dedicated and working hard, yet are struggling due to a lack of resources.
How to Apply?
Applications for this scheme can be submitted through the portal of the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI). As soon as the application process begins, students will be able to register online. Information regarding eligibility criteria and required documents will be released shortly.
