Major Announcement by Punjab Government: New Scheme to Benefit 1 Crore Women with Direct Bank Transfers
The Punjab government has launched a scheme for the women of the state, under which a certain amount of money will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of approximately one crore women. Let us find out how to apply for this scheme.
Every state government prioritizes the well-being and empowerment of its women. In line with this, the Punjab government has introduced a new scheme for the women of the state. Under this initiative, the government will deposit funds into women's accounts, a move aimed at fostering their empowerment.
The scheme is named 'Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana', and so far, more than 75 lakh women have registered for it. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated on Sunday that ₹3,824.87 crore has already been directly transferred to the bank accounts of these women.
What is the scheme all about?
Under the 'Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana', the Punjab government is providing financial assistance of ₹1,000 per month to eligible women aged 18 and above. Meanwhile, women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community are receiving ₹1,500. Government data suggests that approximately 97% of women in Punjab are expected to be eligible for this scheme.
What is the objective of the scheme?
The objective of this scheme is to promote the dignity and self-reliance of women. According to the government, receiving direct financial assistance will enable women to participate more confidently in decisions concerning their families and society.
Targeting one crore women
The Punjab government has set a target to extend the benefits of this scheme to one crore women. The Chief Minister stated that no eligible woman would be deprived of the scheme's benefits. He affirmed that as long as he holds the office of Chief Minister, no eligible woman would be denied the advantages of the scheme.

If you reside in Punjab and wish to avail the benefits of this scheme, you can apply online via the official 'Punjab e-Sewa Portal' by visiting your nearest Anganwadi center or Sewa Kendra.

Punjab Voter ID or Domicile Certificate
Bank passbook
Caste certificate (if belonging to the Scheduled Caste/SC category)

Please note that to apply for this scheme, the applicant must be 18 years of age or older. The woman must be a registered voter in the state of Punjab; otherwise, she will be considered ineligible for the scheme.
