Major Alert Regarding Petrol and Diesel: Residents of These 14 Haryana Districts (Including Gurugram and Faridabad) Take Note
In the NCR regions of Haryana, vehicles will undergo a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) check before being refueled at petrol pumps. Refueling—whether with petrol, diesel, or CNG—will be denied to vehicles lacking a valid PUC.
If you reside in Haryana's NCR region and commute by vehicle, this information is crucial for you. Your vehicle's valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate may now be checked before you can refuel with petrol, diesel, or CNG. The Haryana Transport Department has instructed petrol pumps in the NCR to refrain from refueling vehicles that do not possess a valid PUC. This measure is being implemented in line with the "No PUC, No Fuel" rule that came into effect in Delhi-NCR on October 1.
The primary objective of this initiative is to curb vehicular pollution and improve air quality in the Delhi-NCR region. Initially, pump attendants will manually verify the PUC; subsequently, vehicle details will be verified against the online PUC database using number-plate recognition cameras.
Which vehicles will be denied petrol or diesel?
Vehicles lacking a valid PUC may be refused petrol, diesel, or CNG. Before dispensing fuel, petrol pump attendants will verify the PUC's validity using the vehicle's registration number. The vehicle's number will be checked against the online PUC database via an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera system.
Until the camera systems are fully operational across all locations, PUC checks will be conducted manually. Additionally, if a vehicle lacks a valid PUC, its registration number may be recorded.
The rule will apply in these 14 districts of Haryana
Motorists in these 14 districts falling under Haryana's NCR region need to pay special attention to this rule.

What should you do if you do not have a PUC?
If you do not possess a valid PUC, you may be refused fuel at petrol pumps. Therefore, get a pollution certificate issued from your nearest authorized PUC testing center.
Not having a valid PUC for your vehicle will not only cause difficulties in obtaining petrol or diesel but could also lead to a fine for violating regulations. Under applicable motor vehicle rules, driving a vehicle without a valid PUC can attract a fine of up to ₹10,000.
