What does the new Aadhaar app offer?
The new app includes several features that were not available in the previous mAadhaar app. Users can update their mobile numbers and addresses, download their e-Aadhaar, and share their Aadhaar details via QR code. Furthermore, users can book online appointments at Aadhaar Seva Kendras and track the status of Aadhaar updates. The need to provide physical photocopies of Aadhaar will also be reduced.
A key highlight of the new app is the QR-based selective sharing feature. This allows you to share only the necessary information with others without revealing your complete Aadhaar details, thereby enhancing data privacy. Update mobile number and address from the comfort of your home
Previously, people had to visit Aadhaar centers to update their mobile numbers or addresses. Now, many updates can be performed directly through the app. However, a visit to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra is still required to link a mobile number for the first time.
How to download the new Aadhaar app?
This app is available on both Android and iPhone. After downloading it, select your language and enter your Aadhaar number. Then, complete the OTP and face authentication processes. Create a 6-digit PIN and start using the app. Please note that data from the mAadhaar app will not automatically transfer to the new app; users may need to set up their profiles again in the new app.
