Lumo: New AI chatbot is here, gives full guarantee of privacy, know what is its specialty?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools make work easier, but there is no privacy with them, because these tools learn from your chats. Their training is also done from your data, but now an AI tool has come to the market, which has given a full guarantee of privacy. Proton, already known for its encrypted email service Proton Mail, has now come up with a new AI chatbot named Lumo. This chatbot is a privacy-focused alternative to other AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot.
What can Lumo do?
Lumo can generate code, write emails, summarize documents, and do much more. Its specialty is that it keeps the user's privacy completely safe. It stores data locally on the user's device, so there is no external interference.
On which model is it based?
Lumo uses several open-source large language models (LLMs) running on Proton's servers in Europe.
Such as: Nemo by Mistral
Mistral Small 3
OpenHands 32B by Nvidia
OLMO 2 32B by Allen Institute for AI
Lumo selects the most appropriate model based on the user's query and returns the answer.
Zero-Access encryption and security technology
Proton claims that Lumo uses Zero-Access encryption. This means that the user is given an encryption key so that only he can access his data, not even Proton. Additionally, Transport Layer Security (TLS) is used for data transmission, and prompts are encrypted asymmetrically so that only Lumo's GPU servers can decrypt them.
Lumo Features
Ghost Mode: Your active chat session is not saved, even on the local device.
Web Search: Enabling this feature allows Lumo to search for the latest information from the Internet, but by default, it is turned off to maintain privacy.
File Analysis: Lumo can understand and analyze uploaded files, but does not store them.
Proton Drive Integration: Users can add end-to-end encrypted files from their Proton Drive directly to Lumo chats.
Plans and Access:
Users without a Lumo or Proton account can ask 25 questions per week, but no chat history is saved.
Users with a free account can ask 100 questions per week.
The Lumo Plus plan costs $12.99 i.e. Rs 1,123.96 per month, which offers unlimited chats, encrypted chat history, and many other features.
