LPG Subsidy New Rule: Currently, there are significant difficulties regarding gas cylinders. Furthermore, the government's new regulations are causing confusion among the public. Read on to find out the latest announcements regarding LPG subsidies.

LPG Subsidy New Rule: There is already widespread trouble across the country concerning gas cylinders. While those with a registered connection typically receive their cylinders within a stipulated timeframe, those without a connection—who rely on vendors to purchase cylinders on the black market—are now finding it difficult to procure them. When they do manage to get one, they are forced to pay double or even quadruple the standard price. Meanwhile, several new regulations have also been imposed regarding the subsidy provided alongside gas cylinders. A recent report indicates that, starting in June, a large number of people will no longer receive any subsidy at all. You can find out here who these individuals are and why the subsidy amount will no longer be credited to their bank accounts. Additionally, this article outlines how to address and resolve this issue.

What is the New Rule?

According to the new government regulation, gas cylinder consumers must now complete their e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) verification in order to continue receiving subsidies. The subsidy will be suspended for anyone who fails to complete their e-KYC. The deadline for completing this e-KYC verification is June 30th.

Who Will Not Receive the Subsidy?

Customers whose gas accounts are not linked with their Aadhaar numbers will not receive the subsidy. Furthermore, since the e-KYC process must be completed by June 30th, anyone whose e-KYC verification remains incomplete by that date will be ineligible to receive the subsidy.

How to Complete e-KYC?

To complete your e-KYC, first access the mobile application associated with your gas connection—such as "IndianOil One" or "HP Pay"—on your smartphone. Once you have successfully logged into the app, click on the "Re-KYC" option. Next, use your mobile camera to scan your face. Upon doing so, the UIDAI system will verify your facial biometrics, thereby instantly completing your e-KYC process without any paperwork or bureaucratic hassle.

What Should You Do If You Cannot Complete the e-KYC Online? If you are unable to complete your e-KYC online, please visit any nearby gas distributor or gas agency. Carry your Aadhaar card, gas connection passbook, and mobile phone with you. An employee there will capture your fingerprint, and the e-KYC process will be completed instantly.
