What Benefits Can Consumers Expect?
Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, shared key insights last Monday regarding the current status of LPG gas cylinders across the country. She also informed consumers that they can apply for a PNG gas connection by contacting their city's City Gas Distribution (CGD) company via email, the customer portal, or the call center.

IGL's Offer
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the company responsible for gas supply in the Delhi-NCR region, is offering free gas worth up to ₹500 to domestic consumers who switch from LPG to PNG. To avail of this offer, consumers must obtain a PNG connection before March 31st.

Mahanagar Gas Limited's Offer
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has waived the ₹500 registration fee typically charged for new domestic PNG connections. Additionally, the security deposit—ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh—usually required for obtaining a commercial connection has also been completely waived.

GAIL and BPCL's Offers
As for GAIL Gas Limited, the company is offering free gas worth ₹500 to customers who obtain a domestic PNG connection. Similarly, BPCL has eliminated the security deposit requirement for all commercial PNG connections.
